The Declaration of Video Essays, 2023, Colorized

 Hello everyone! This is my first Action Project for my class A Nation’s Argument. In this first unit, we went over how a nation is argued into being. We read chapter 4 of Howard Zinn’s book, “A Nation’s Argument” and watched Professor Joanne Freeman’s lecture on the Declaration. We were also able to talk to Ben Blair, a principal at a Montessori school. We even went to a play called, “The ripple, the wave that carried me home” that helped us see how we can make arguments. We were then tasked with making our own declarations - of independent study that is. We were to make a declaration, which would help us declare an area of non-traditional academic study we think we should be able to study. This is my declaration, enjoy!

    This project was a bit tougher than some of my other works. It definitely got me to think about how I could structure this study and the reason behind it existing. I definitely want to pursue this, and I will probably still try to refine it.
