Creation

Hey all! This is my first official AP of the year! In our class, we've been talking about stories and how they help tell about things hat happen. We've mainly gone over origin stories, notably going over some famous ones and talking about how each is pretty similar to each other once you break them down. We also met with a famous Chicago storyteller and played a game she made! We learnt about how we can all have stories to connect us, even if we don't think we may have them, they are always there. We were then tasked on making our own, using the knowledge we have. It had to include some things like similes and metaphors, adjectives and adverbs, but in general it had to be about the creation of something. This is mine! I've worked pretty hard on this, so hopefully you enjoy it.

Two beings.

Two beings, Aiden and Wren, that transcend simple, human-made labels like man or woman were floating around in the cosmos. They both were like the stars, bright and lasting for what seemed like an eternity. Eternal beings, being able to move and shape things in the blink of an eye. Strange beings, whose whale being was undoubtedly and unequivocally foreign.

Empty.

There was a rock, floating in space like a dangling light bulb on a loose piece of string. It was a blank, empty canvas, prime for painting. They had long awaited a new play thing, getting bored of the endless flying they had done. They had undoubtedly and undeniably started something new.

They flew down, landing on the desolate rock. They took in the dusty yet seeming non-existent smell of it. It was like water, in a sense. Yet, as they really looked at it, they realized it was a hollow shell, waiting to be painted over masterfully and beautifully. They would mold it into something amazing.

Aiden took the first steps, creating land out of the land present, mushing it together like a sort of clay. Wren then splashed water all around, mainly making the ocean while accidentally making rivers and lakes. Aiden then masterfully placed different landscapes across the land they had made. Wren stopped their friend, however. They had another idea: making a sort of haven. A utopia that would never waste away, never stop prostering, never stop living without worry. Aiden thought the opposite: growth and change would lead to.. Something. They weren’t sure what exactly, yet they were certain it would lead to a future to be proud of. They were at a complete impasse.

Separation.

As their arguments continued, they both realized that it would continue until time memorial. As both a solution and sort of friendly competition, Wren left to search for their own planet, with Aiden would stay with the one the both of them found. Both would build their planet with their own visions in mind. They’d then meet back, they weren’t sure when, and compare. They would be away, but they both wanted to show the other their way was the best way. So, Wren left, leaving Aiden to craft.

As so, we come to today. Aiden took a more passive role, yet still watches over us. They are always watching.
